ALTADENA, CA – The Altadena Chamber of Commerce and Civic Association is thrilled to announce a milestone celebration: 101 years of dedicated service to our community on Friday, February 7, 2025, at 6:00 PM, Altadena Town and Country Club, 2290 Country Club Drive, Altadena, CA 91001. We invite you to join us in honoring our legacy and the impactful contributions of our local businesses and community leaders.

Since its incorporation in 1924, the Altadena Chamber has been committed to “promoting the economic, commercial, industrial, civic, and general interests of the community and its trade area.” This year, as we reflect on our rich history and achievements, we express heartfelt gratitude to each member and supporter whose dedication, healthy focus, and progressive attitude have been integral to the Chamber’s longevity.

Join us for an elegant evening filled with lively country western flair, delicious dining, and heartwarming camaraderie. The annual Installation and Awards Dinner will feature live entertainment and an exciting live auction! We will honor Citizen of the Year, Michael Bicay, and Business of the Year, Sidecca, as this year’s 2025 award recipients. Additionally, we will extend special recognition to Chris Holden and Anthony Portantino for their years of dedicated service to the Altadena community.

The event will showcase our rich history and highlight the remarkable individuals and organizations that have played pivotal roles in our journey. The “Blazing Trails” theme celebrates the adventurous spirit of local businesses and their vital contribution to our community, setting the stage for a bright and prosperous future.

Citizen of the Year

Must be a resident of Altadena and has contributed substantially to the betterment of the community through the years and has been involved in the community through volunteer efforts.  Is of good character. Individuals who are employed in a public service position in Altadena (i.e. Clergy, Law Enforcement, Public Relations, Politics, etc) must demonstrate community involvement above and beyond the scope of their paid position. Individuals serving on the Altadena Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors are ineligible. 

History of the Citizen of the Year Award 

The first Outstanding Citizen Award was given by the Altadena Chamber of Commerce in honor of the late Mr. W.B. Taylor, veteran newspaper reporter for the Pasadena Star News. Since 1945, the award has been given annually in recognition of faithful, untiring interest and service in community activities. 

Business of the Year

Has contributed substantially to the betterment of the business community through volunteer efforts. Promotes other businesses in Altadena along with their own.  Member of the Altadena Chamber of Commerce in good standing. Businesses associated with Altadena Chamber of Commerce Board members are not eligible.
